The light of our lives, our daughter Piper, shares her playtime with our dogs, Zoei & Georgia, and a blue beta fish {who remains nameless}. We relish the joys and challenges that parenting brings. The cute things Piper says and does never cease to make us smile. No one makes us laugh more. She is all three and all girl at the moment; very independent, dramatic, curious, full of life, and has a serious shoe fetish {luckily, Daddy has a good job}. She loves playing with friends and cousins, and we can’t wait for a little brother, sister, or both {twins?!} to join our family and share in the fun.
Overall, we are a pretty normal family, very casual, a little goofy sometimes, but definitely not perfect. We laugh a lot. We love our regular family walks through the neighborhood, trips to the zoo, swimming excursions, a little camping from time to time, and lots of ice cream. Life isn’t always easy, but we aim to create lots of fun in the process.
Our home and neighborhood:
We live in such a great neighborhood! We bought a house when we were first married and fell in love with the neighborhood and the people we attend church with. It’s an extremely safe neighborhood with lots of friends nearby. It never fails when we take a walk around the block on a Sunday afternoon that we end up with four or more families strolling together. Several schools, parks, libraries, and rec centers beckon within minutes of our home. Our home offers ample space for more children, with a big fenced backyard and a bright colorful playroom that looks like it came out of a Simpson’s cartoon.
Our extended family:
Both Steve & I have family nearby as well as out of state. Between us, we have five brothers and one sister, with a combined total of 13 nieces and nephews. Our favorite babysitter is definitely Grandma! We have lots of family get togethers for birthdays and holidays, and Piper love’s thinking she’s such a “big girl” when she’s playing with her older cousins, or helping one of her younger ones. Both sides of our family are excited to welcome a new little one into the mix.
